Prevent Common Security Pitfalls with Digital ID
Digital ID is a two-part identification record retrieval system that represents an efficient and secure way of providing proof of identity. We designed Digital ID using US patented technology to mitigate common security threats and vulnerabilities at each process stage: Obtaining an ID, Displaying an ID, and Validating an ID.

Obtaining an ID
The Digital Identifier (DI) app ensures quick identification access in accordance with your organization’s security standards and practices.
- Users simply log in through our IOS or Android app and access their ID card with a pin, fingerprint verification, or facial scan on compatible devices.
- The ID issuer can issue a temporary pin to set up their account and a permanent password.
- The DI app stores a user’s pin and other information (e.g., license number) for each ID in an encrypted space. All identity information can and should be stored on the ID issuer’s server to ensure security.
- Using that information and its internal knowledge of the access protocol for the ID issuer, the DI app communicates with the ID issuer’s servers to obtain a copy of the ID.

Displaying the ID
Digital ID was designed to be easy to use and usable everywhere. The system addresses both challenges while keeping security at the forefront of our planning.
- The DI app is designed to be issuer agnostic to ensure users can access all their IDs.
- Whenever users request access to their ID card, they must log in to the DI app for a secure connection.
- If an internet connection isn’t available, the DI app stores a cached copy of the most recent retrieval to be used per the issuer’s data security standard operating procedure. The cached copy is clearly marked, and the ID issuer can limit its use.

Validating the ID
The Digital Identify Validator (DV) app runs on a separate device from the one used to display the ID.
- When users request their digital ID card, the issuer sends a unique scannable code that the DV app can exclusively read and validate. A new QR code is generated for each request to prevent fraud.
- The one exception is if a user is offline. The DV app will accept a cached copy from the most recent code for a limited time or number of uses.
- The DV app can be downloaded for free from the Apple App Store or Google Play.
- The separate apps and unique QR codes are our secret weapon against cybersecurity threats.
